CORO PIANO CITY, MUSIC INVADES THE HISTORIC CENTER – City of Corigliano-Rossano

Exceptional numbers for the new edition of CoRo Piano City 2024, the piano marathon spread across the historic center of Rossano to celebrate the world of the “eighty-eight keys”. The piano expressed in all its artistic forms: classical, jazz, pop, soundtracks, for the fourth edition of the innovative musical initiative.

100 pianists. 3 stations, a Matinee and Piano City House. 1300 minutes of pure magic.

After the public and critical success of the last edition, the piano marathon spread across the historic center of Rossano is renewed. A project for the city which from the beginning has been characterized as a project of and with the city, thanks to the innovative working method which sees the involvement of institutions, artists, associations, networks and partners. A revolution in notes that overturns the dynamics: music that does not wait for the public, but meets them in the squares and in unconventional spaces; a diffusion that peacefully invades the entire urban space; inclusive, free cultural quality, not for a few, but given to everyone, in order to generate new culture.

As for last year, three stations with grand piano and grand piano are planned, on Saturday starting from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm, in the hall of the Circolo Culturale Rossanese, the courtyard of Palazzo Madre Isabella De Rosis and the Cloister of Palazzo San Bernardino.

Several new features are planned for this edition: from the wine tasting offered by the Tenuta Corno Valano winery, to the Piano City Matinée concerts – Sunday 29th at 11am, in Piazza Steri in front of the Rossonese cultural club – and Piano City House, at 6pm. It is the The thrill of playing the piano in front of a real audience during the highlight of the event. A chance for everyone, an opportunity to celebrate in the name of music in a democratic and participatory way. Piano City®️ is an idea / concept by Andreas Kern, a format that takes place in the most important cities in the world.

The creation of the Corigliano – Rossano City Plan is promoted by the municipal administration in collaboration with the Corigliano-Rossano Pro Loco. The event is included in the CoRo Music Fest programming. The organizational direction is by the Musical Studies Center “G. Verdi”, the artistic direction is entrusted to the pianist Teresa Campana.
