A Desktop Fibra is in an advanced stage of negotiations for new acquisitions, as indicated by the company’s management in a recent conference with analysts, in August 2024. The company, which operates in the internet provider sector, seeks to expand its geographic presence through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), focusing on regional providers close to its operations. Bruno Leão, Financial and M&A director, stated that the internet provider market has regained a balance in prices, which favors the consolidation of the sector.
During the event, Denio Alves Lindo, CEO of Desktop, avoided directly commenting on rumors about a possible sale of the company to Vivo, although he reaffirmed the company’s commitment to organic and inorganic growth. The strategy, according to Lindo, involves accelerating revenues in the B2C segment and expanding into new geographic areas. He also ruled out the segregation of network infrastructure, an idea that has been discussed in the past, and highlighted that Desktop is always open to evaluating opportunities that add value to shareholders.

Furthermore, the company is studying the increase in the supply of mobile telephone services, currently available in some cities in the interior of São Paulo, through a partnership with TIM. André Falcão, Director of Sales and Marketing, mentioned that, although the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) is an additional source of revenue, Desktop’s main strategy continues to be linked to the expansion of its fiber optic network.
