MINISTER of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno confirmed that the government’s partnership with Dorna Sports to hold MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), will continue until 2027.
“We have repeatedly said that MotoGP will continue. The government’s commitment and partnership with BUMN Injourney and Dorna Sport will continue. So MotoGP 2025, 2026, 2027 will continue,” said Sandiaga as quoted by BetweenFriday (27/9).
Regarding the continued partnership between the government, BUMN Injourney and Dorna Sports, Sandiaga Uno, asked for community support to continue to make MotoGP a success at the Mandalika Circuit.
Considering the significant impact on increasing the economy and tourist visits to Indonesia, including NTB Province.
“We hope that the community will continue to support it by looking at the number of tourist visits coming to Indonesia and NTB,” he said.
Reflecting on the previous MotoGP, the presence of the most prestigious motorbike racing event in the world was able to create jobs for 2,000-3,000 people per MotoGP event.

“But overall, we will send a team to study it. In the first year the impact was up to IDR 8 trillion. And last year the total economic increase reached almost 1 percent, meaning this event is worth continuing in terms of economic scale,” said Sandiaga.
Regarding the hosting fee of IDR 231 billion that must be paid to Dorna Sports, Sandiaga stated that there was no problem, because everything could be paid.
“Thank God, everything has been completed for hosting fees, the cooperation agreement has been signed, so there are no problems,” he also said. (Z-6)
