Colombian business delegation explores investment opportunities in Paraguay

Asunción, IP Agency.- A total of 20 Colombian investors, from different economic sectors, participated in a series of talks presented by technicians from the Vice Ministry of Industry and Rediex, in order to learn in detail about the special regimes and the advantages that Paraguay offers to investors. foreigners.

The delegation that includes businessmen from the textile and clothing, chemical and pharmaceutical, construction, food, agricultural and electricity sectors, arrived in the country with the help of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, the Paraguayan Colombian Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Colombian Embassy in Paraguay.

Ernesto Rojas, general director of Strategic Planning at Rediex, indicated that some of the visitors are already in the process of settling in the country, motivated by the recent level of investment and projections.

During the meeting, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about the benefits of investing in Paraguay, the incentives of the Maquila Regime, Law 60/90, the Unified Business Opening System (SUACE), and the Raw Materials Regime.

“These types of business links are essential to strengthen the commercial relationship between Paraguay and Colombia, which currently reaches USD 221 million in imports and exports,” highlighted Rojas, pointing out that continuous growth is expected in this exchange thanks to the collaboration.

The Rediex manager commented that the next step includes following up with businessmen and creating commercial links to attract more Colombian investment.

Bilateral relationship

For his part, the head of the Chamber, Miguel Carrizosa, highlighted the importance of increasing Colombian investment in Paraguay, pointing out various sectors of interest for investment, including medicines, construction materials (such as synthetic rods), real estate development, agriculture and textiles.

In this sense, Carrizosa referred to success stories such as the production of chocolate and the use of synthetic rods in construction. Likewise, the president emphasized the need to improve communication and facilitate commercial exchange.
