An important communication from the Ministry of Higher Education regarding new procedures in the faculties of medicine and pharmacy

The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation announced today, Thursday, that the colleges of medicine and pharmacy will take the necessary measures to restore their normal functioning.

A statement from the Ministry explained that the faculties of medicine and pharmacy will take the necessary measures to enable students who passed the first semester exams in the September 5, 2024 session to complete their exams during a special exceptional session, as well as to enable dropped-out students to pass all exams due for the academic year 2023-2024 in an exceptional session. One for each semester, before the end of November 2024.

The zero point will also be canceled for students who do not pass the exams, and it will be replaced with the points obtained in the exceptional course exams, and the exam results will be traded in order to register in the following years, taking into account the points obtained in the regular and special courses without taking into account the condition of completing the training, as the latter will be programmed. Later, while adhering to its full timeline and conditions for passing and completing it, as well as the immediate launch of procedural procedures in order to review the penalties issued against students registered in pharmacy courses that are related to the events that accompanied the boycott of studies in the faculties of medicine and pharmacy.

The study will begin in the academic year 2024-2025, according to the same source, as follows:

  • Monday, September 23, 2024 For new students registered in the first year:

  • Monday, October 14, 2024 for students of other levels.

The communication stated that these measures came “in accordance with the various mediation efforts that the government, deans, and research professors responded to in order to restore the normal functioning of the faculties of medicine and pharmacy, and in interaction with the mediation efforts undertaken by the Kingdom Mediator Foundation in order to find a basis for agreement with the students who dropped out of school, and after reaching The Kingdom reached a settlement with the representatives of some students who dropped out of school in the Pharmacy Department, in order to implement the administration’s obligations specified in the women’s minutes signed on September 22, 2024.”

The source concluded that the Ministry extends its thanks to the research professors and administrative and technical frameworks in the faculties of medicine and pharmacy for their efforts to make up for the pedagogical time consumed by the students’ boycott of studies, and for their dedication to maintaining and improving the quality of training.
