Fair Play Action Weeks 2024 | SK Storm

Violence is Not a Game

We stand united against violence, sexism, and hatred, as such beliefs and acts of physical violence have no place in Austrian football or anywhere else. SK Sturm Graz is participating in the 2024 Fair Play Campaign weeks. The home games of the Kampfteam on October 6th against Red Bull Salzburg, the Sturm Frauen on October 12th against the LASK Frauen, and SK Sturm Graz II on October 26th against Admira will serve as a platform to convey this message.

We love sports for the emotions they evoke and the thrill of competition. The strongest competitors prevail, while those who do not succeed are encouraged to persevere, because ultimately, sports are a game. However, this perspective does not apply to our everyday lives. In reality, when the strongest prevail in our daily interactions, it often results in harm to others. Violence against women or individuals perceived as women remains prevalent in our society. It is not a game. Its roots lie in the belief that women and girls are less valuable or inferior. It is the responsibility of each one of us to recognize, confront, and prevent violence. Don’t be a bystander! Stand against sexism, hatred, and violence. Take action to ensure that sports are a safe space for everyone!

Showing Respect is True Strength

It is essential for each of us to recognize, address, and prevent violence. Don’t be a bystander! Stand against sexism, hatred, and violence. Take a stand to make sports a safe place for all. Because: Showing respect is true strength.

Violence is not a Game

Together we stand united against violence, sexism, and hatred, because such ideas and physical violence have no place in Austrian football and everywhere else. SK Sturm Graz is taking part in the 2024 Fair Play Campaign Weeks. The home games of the Kampfteam on October 6th against Red Bull Salzburg, the Sturm Frauen on October 12th against the LASK Frauen, and the SK Sturm Graz II on October 26th against Admira will set an example in these games.

We love sport because of all the emotions it releases and the thrill it provides as the strongest prevail. The winners sit atop the leaderboard, while the losers hold their heads high, knowing that life goes on. Yet, the same sentiment does not apply to our everyday lives. When the strongest prevail in the real world, it often comes at a steep cost to others, particularly in cases of violence against women or those perceived as women.

The Reality of Violence Against Women

Violence against women is still alarmingly commonplace in our society. This ongoing battle stems from the damaging belief that women and girls are less worthy or inferior. It is imperative for each one of us to recognize, confront, and prevent violence in all its forms. Remember, don’t just observe! Take a definitive stand against sexism, hatred, and violence. Together, we can transform sport into a safe haven for everyone.
