During the installation session of the General Council on the occasion of the beginning of the Extraordinary Electoral Process of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (PEEPJF) 2024-2025, the Presidential Counselor of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Guadalupe Taddei Zavala, assured that the electoral authority complies with the State function of organizing these elections.
In his speech, Taddei guaranteed that the National Electoral System has the powers and powers to carry out this election under the same standards of quality, efficiency and professionalism.
From the INE, he stressed, “we are ready to start these activities, since we have the support of years of experience and solid international recognition.” The objective in these unprecedented elections, he emphasized, is to guarantee the almost 99 million voters the possibility of voting.
“This election will mark a milestone in our democratic history, just as the first elections organized by the IFE did in the nineties,” said the Presidential Councilor, confirming that the procedures are up to the historical experience that they will live. the voters.
Within the framework of this electoral process, Taddei Zavala mentioned that the call to the polls on June 1, 2025 will be promoted.
“Today the mandate of democracy calls us. Our duty is as vast as the strength of the citizens and our mission is that with each vote the national election system of our country is strengthened.”
The principles of universal, free and secret voting will be guaranteed
The President of the INE promised that the principle of equal suffrage will be guaranteed in the definition of the electoral geography and that the ballots will retain their security mechanisms, with practical designs for the issuance and counting of the vote.
That is, the principles of universal, free, secret, direct, personal and non-transferable voting are assured. Furthermore, the citizens who participate in the electoral process will be duly trained and the scrutiny and counting of the votes will preserve the quality that has distinguished the Mexican electoral model.
“Certainty is a principle that guides all our activities, so the electoral results will be published in a timely manner, as we have done in recent years,” Guadalupe Taddei made clear.
Likewise, he added that the INE will successfully fulfill the constitutional mandate with the help of the presidencies of the Local Public Organizations (OPL) and the 32 INE delegations and that equity in the electoral contest will be protected with the support of the 300 district boards. .
The President Councilor confirmed that the promotion of voting will be one of the INE’s priorities; Forums will be held so that everyone knows the candidacies and proposals of people who want to be ministers, judges and magistrates and electoral observation, both national and international, will be called.
“Promoting informed participation in this election is a duty with the history of our democracy, which will allow citizens to cast their informed vote,” he said.
