He told Cricket Commentary that he learned English when he was studying in O and A level and used to practice there but he did not take English courses regularly.

Waqar said that the teachers in his school also helped him in teaching English while he learned the style of commentary by listening to cricket commentators.

It is being said on social media that Waqar’s style of commentary is similar to that of Daniel Morson but he says that it is his own style and he does his own style of commentary.

He said: ‘I don’t follow anyone but commentate in my own style and tone, which people like a lot but some people say my commentating style is like Daniel Morson.’

Waqar said that he himself plays cricket at the local level and is more fond of bowling, but due to lack of opportunities, he has not yet played on a big platform.

Waqar said that he learned the style of commentary by listening to cricket commentators (Azharullah/Independent Urdu).

Regarding going viral on social media, Waqar said that he was not very fond of social media, but some friends recorded his commentary and uploaded it on social media, so it went viral and people liked it a lot.

In response to a question regarding his desire to pursue a career in commentary, he said that he is looking for an opportunity.

According to Waqar: ‘I have a lot of passion and I am working hard while I have talent but I need an opportunity.’

He added: ‘Talent is revealed when one gets the opportunity and when the opportunity comes, I can represent Pakistan at the national and international level and still try to improve the commentary.’

According to Waqar, for cricket commentary any person should have more English vocabulary while the commentator should have more energy to commentate in the best way.
