New patrol cars also arrive at police stations in the Paraguayan Chaco

Asunción, IP Agency.- The Government of Paraguay, through the Ministry of the Interior and the National Police, delivered this Wednesday a total of 14 new patrol cars, distributed among the police stations located in the departments of Boquerón and Alto Paraguay, Paraguayan Chaco.

In this way, the operational effectiveness of the police forces is enhanced, seeking to ensure a rapid and effective response to emergency situations, according to the Deputy Minister of Internal Security, Oscar Pereira.

The vice minister highlighted that in addition to the seven patrol boats delivered to each of these two departments of Chaco, the Government of Paraguay will continue to increase the capacity of the National Police with equipment and personnel.

“We are going to send motorcycles later and we are also going to increase the effective force of the police with the next expenditures,” said the vice minister in conversation with the state media.

Pereira highlighted that the patrol boats delivered have a fuel quota worth 3 million guaraníes, and that they are also equipped with GPS to monitor that they fulfill their mission in the assigned places.

The distribution of the 250 patrol boats acquired with resources from Itaipu Binacional and presented last week by the Government is carried out in accordance with criteria of population density, crime rate, territorial extension and volume of daily operations.

So far they have been delivered to the departments of Central, Cordillera, Caaguazú, Alto Paraná, in addition to the two departments of Chaco that benefit today. The distribution will continue tomorrow in Asunción and the department of Presidente Hayes.
