Pakistan played three Test matches against England for the home series opener Sean Massoud has retained the captain and re-inducted left-arm spinner Nauman Ali into the team.

Bowling all-rounder Amir Jamal has recovered from a back injury and was included in the 15-man squad announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Tuesday. Noman Ali will be the other specialist spin option for Pakistan, along with Abrar Ahmed in the squad named for the opening Test.

Shan Masood’s captaincy was questioned when Bangladesh beat Pakistan 2-0. It was his fifth Test defeat in a row since he was made Test captain last year.
