The former presidential candidate and Venezuelan opposition leader, Edmundo González, held separate meetings this Wednesday in the Spanish Congress with deputies and senators from the conservative regionalist parties Unión del Pueblo Navarro (UPN) and Canarian Coalition (CC), who have conveyed their support to him. and solidarity.

Both meetings are part of the round of meetings that the recognized president-elect of Venezuela by both the Congress and the European Parliament is holding with different leaders and political groups in Spain.

After the meeting, the Navarrese deputy Alberto Catalán explained that he had seen Edmundo González “with a lot of desire, a lot of enthusiasm and with very clear ideas” and he conveyed to him his party’s commitment to the “majority cry” in favor of the democracy and freedom in Venezuela.

Before the meetings with the representatives of UPN and CC, another meeting between the opposition leader of Venezuela and the president of the far-right Vox, Santiago Abascal, was planned, which had to be postponed due to the latter’s illness.
