Escalation of conflict in Lebanon is unacceptable; Pope Francis wants the international community to intervene for peace

Vatican City: Pope Francis expressed deep concern and sorrow over the conflict in Lebanon. The Pope asked the international community to intervene to end the attacks and restore peace in the region. The Holy Father was speaking during his weekly public viewing program in St. Peter’s Square yesterday.

The Pope said he was saddened by the news from Lebanon of heavy bombing and death and destruction. Any move that escalates the conflict cannot be accepted. The Pope said that many lives have been lost in Lebanon these days and many others have been victims, and that these attacks have caused a lot of damage.

The Pope said that the ongoing atrocities cannot be accepted and added that he is with the Lebanese people in their suffering. The Pope prayed for those suffering from the war in Ukraine and those who died in the coal mine explosion in Iran.

The Pope called to pray for all the people suffering from wars in different parts of the world. The Pope said that we should not forget Ukraine, which is suffering a lot, and all the peoples who are going through suffering in countries like Myanmar, Palestine, Israel and Sudan. The Pope also called on everyone to pray for peace.
