The farmer Isak Johansson30, from Öland had long prioritized love when he chose to apply to “Farmer seeks wife”.
– I thought ‘After this harvest, I’ll get hold of it’… I just put it off and then I felt that there was something I was missing and that it was the next step. I had everything else under control, so I thought it was love that was missing, he tells Aftonbladet.
How did you come to be single?
– Partly because I didn’t take the time or dare to meet anyone, or I have dared to meet people but I haven’t dared to let them in close enough to give it an honest chance.

Got “a good bunch” of letters
When it became clear that Isak was one of this year’s farmers, TV4 canceled a clip of him on Tiktok where they wrote that you could send him letters and become one of the girls he would date on the show.
The clip quickly received hundreds of thousands of views and the comment section was filled with hopeful girls.
– It was very fun to see and that people were so interested in getting to know me. It was a bit nasty that people might recognize your face, but also very flattering of course because you got very nice comments.
How many letters did you end up receiving?
– Hmm… It was a good group. At least I could be picky when I chose.
What did you go by when you selected the letters?
– I went a lot for people who could write and explain themselves very well and what they were looking for and someone who knew what they wanted.

The parents were skeptical
Isak thought he had prepared to be part of a TV production, but was still shocked by how fast the pace was during the filming and says it was nice when it was all over.
– And a little missing, of course, because suddenly it was very empty. From it being so intense to silence as well.
What will it be like to see yourself on TV?
– I think it will probably be a bit difficult, at times. Certain parts and moments I don’t really remember how it happened or what was said, but I remember the whole. So some things will be hard to see. But above all, I think it will be very fun to relive it and see how others receive it.

And from the start, Isak’s loved ones have been very supportive and encouraging of his love adventure – even if some needed a little help along the way.
– The parents were probably a little skeptical at first, but that was to be expected, if you don’t really know what the program is about. But when I told them and showed a little, they followed the train and thought it would be fun.
