The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) emphasized that there was no intervention from any party in handling the alleged bribery case for interim replacement (PAW) of DPR members. Fugitive and former PDIP legislative candidate Harun Masiku is confirmed to still be sought.

“We will continue to search, we will continue to do it,” said KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur Rahayu at the KPK’s Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Friday (27/9).

Asep was reluctant to detail the progress of the search for Harun because it had to be kept secret. However, he asked the fugitive to surrender.

Harun’s surrender was considered more profitable than continuing to run away. Because, said Asep, his prison sentence would not be long if he referred to the case, namely bribery.

“We also want it as soon as possible and we also probably have HM’s brother (Harun Masiku) also watching, so immediately, because those related to him, such as brother W (Wahyu Setiawan) from the KPU and others, have finished serving their sentences, that’s it.” become a free person,” said Asep.

In the development of this case, the Corruption Eradication Commission confiscated Harun’s car which had been parked for two years in an apartment in Jakarta. The vehicle was discovered in June 2024.

Previously, the 2019 election candidate from PDIP Alexsius Akim was questioned by the KPK on Monday (5/9). He admitted that his former party had fired him unilaterally even though he should have been appointed as a council member.

“What is clear is that I should have been appointed but I was dismissed,” said Alexsius at the KPK’s Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Monday (5/9).

Alexsius has now joined the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). At that time, he claimed to have received the most votes in West Kalimantan, however, he was expelled from PDIP without being given an explanation.

“I didn’t know why until today I was dropped,” said Alexsius.

He also admitted that he did not receive a letter of dismissal from PDIP. Corruption Eradication Commission investigators said this incident was investigated. (J-2)
