This Thursday marked the fourth day of practice for Caribes de Anzoátegui, at the facilities of the Jesús Rizales stadium in the Guanta municipality, with the additions of outfielders Herlis Rodriguez and Jesús Bugarín.
For Rodríguez it is the fifth preseason since he belongs to the Anzoatiguense ninth of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) and he assured that he is comfortable in the organization.
“I feel happy to be with the team for one more season, I want to contribute as much as possible this year so that the team returns to the postseason,” the La Tribu Oriental patrolman expressed to Eduardo Medina, a member of the club’s press department.
Rodriguez numbers
Herlis comes from participating in the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), with the Águilas de Veracruz, participating in 92 games, leaving an average of .301, connecting 107 singles, 24 doubles, a triple and five home runs, scoring 66 times. He also managed 32 tows.
“El Gocho” continues to have speed as one of his great tools, during his time in Aztec lands he stole 36 points, being his personal best, he could only be removed nine times.
Bugarín Internship
For his part, Bugarín has just been part of the Spokane Indians, a class A+ branch of the Colorado Rockies in the Minor Leagues (MiLB). In 72 games he hit .248, with 67 hits, singles, 10 doubles and seven home runs, in addition to 30 runs and 33 hits.
For him, a native of Ciudad Piar, it will be his second campaign with Anzoátegui and he will try to excel on the field.
“I’m looking to improve what I did last year and be able to go far with the team,” said Bugarín.
With these additions, Caribes reaches 33 players who have joined their training sessions. More players are expected to arrive in the coming days.
