The Kansas City Chiefs will take a few minutes today before the start of the NFL regular season opener against the Baltimore Ravens to celebrate their victory in Super Bowl LVIII at home.
Even some former players will be in attendance at Arrowhead Stadium, and team owner Clark Hunt will help raise the pennant commemorating the team’s most recent championship to the top of the stadium’s west wing.
The Crows are unlikely to enjoy the spectacle.
Kansas City beat them in the AFC Championship just seven months ago, depriving quarterback Lamar Jackson and company of a chance to play in the title game against San Francisco.
After beating the 49ers 25-22 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the Chiefs achieved their second consecutive title, the third in a five-year period.
Now, the team led by Patrick Mahomes at the controls and Andy Reid on the bench will attempt a feat never before seen in NFL history: winning three Super Bowls in a row.
The rematch between two AFC Conference titans will be the game that will open the NFL regular season.

Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson said that “any game I play in, I feel like it’s a revenge game.” “It doesn’t matter who we’re playing, whether we’ve beaten them or whether they beat us in previous years. I just want to win,” said the NFL MVP winner last season.
However, when he faces Kansas City, he often loses. Jackson is 1-4 against his counterpart Patrick Mahomes. That includes a 17-10 loss in January, when Kansas City limited Baltimore to one field goal in the final three quarters.
