‘Vangelis and the Journey to Ithaka’: Two-hour documentary about Vangelis, in full on YouTube

I can’t say that YouTube’s algorithm is particularly efficient, at least with me. In fact, I’d even dare to say that when it comes to making suggestions, it fails more than a fairground shotgun. But I have to admit that it does get it right sometimes. And yesterday was certainly one of those times. Because it recommended a video to me that turned out to be the documentary Vangelis and the Journey to Ithaka from 2013, and also in its entirety and with various subtitle options, including Spanish. Unfortunately, the image quality isn’t the best, but hey, it’s watchable.

I already knew about this documentary, I had even seen some fragments on YouTube, but I had not been able to watch it in full until yesterday, and I can assure you that it has been a little over two hours very well spent, because Vangelis and the Journey to Ithaka covers, briefly, of course, a good part of the life and work of the master Evángelos Odysséas Papathanassiou (Vangelis), also showing a good number of testimonies from the protagonist himself and from other exceptional guests such as Demis Roussos, Jon Anderson, Henry Mancini, Montserrat Caballé, Sean Connery, Ridley Scott, Harrison Ford and many others.

And yes, as I know that you, my dear geeks, are interested in this topic, I will tell you that you can also see the Greek having fun with his toys for quite a while. So, I won’t go on any longer and I’ll leave you with Don Vangelis. Enjoy it.

PS: The video is not uploaded to an official channel, and it has only been available for a couple of days, so I can’t guarantee that it will be available indefinitely. So hurry up and watch it, otherwise you might miss out. And if you have any problems watching it on the Hispasonic embedded player, below is the link so you can watch it on YouTube.
