On set, filming for the 20th “Soko Donau” season is in full swing and the top cops also have a lot to do on air when “Soko Donau” is called back into action in new episodes of the 18th season from October 1, 2024 on Tuesdays at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 1 and from September 30 on Mondays at 8:15 p.m. on ORF ON. The fall start of the successful ORF/ZDF series is “pure routine” for Brigitte Kren’s team – Andreas Kiendl, Martin Gruber, Lilian Klebow, Maria Happel and Helmut Bohatsch – when they reopen a cold case after the death of an ominous and not unknown widower. The 18th season was directed by Sophie Allet-Coche, Katharina Heigl, Olaf Kreinsen and Eva Spreitzhofer. The screenplays were written by Michael Grießler, Natalia Geb, Sönke Lars Neuwöhner, Andreas Quetsch, Frank Weller, Markus Staender, Peter Dommaschk, Ralf Leuther, Martin Muser, Jens Schäfer, Sascha Bigler and Jessica Lind. Also: “It happened in the afternoon” when the young son of a businessman was kidnapped. The first blackmail letters soon arrived and the “Soko Kitzbühel” was on a da capo mission at 9:05 p.m.

“Soko Donau – Pure Routine” (Tuesday, October 1st, 8:15 p.m., ORF 1, and Monday, September 30th, 8:15 p.m., ORF ON)
With Andreas Kiendl, Martin Gruber, Lilian Klebow, Brigitte Kren, Maria Happel and Helmut Bohatsch as well as Maximilian Dirr, Fanny Krausz, Katharina Holoubek and Harald Schrott in episodic roles; Director: Olaf Kreinsen

The dead man in Mödling is no stranger to the “Soko” – they know Martin Stammer (Harald Schrott), whose wife died in an alleged fall down the stairs the year before. There were inconsistencies that Stammer might have had something to do with her death, but nothing concrete could be proven. It is irritating that shortly after his wife’s death his fitness trainer moved in with him and that he dealt with the accident in a semi-fictional crime novel. Now he is dead himself and the team is reopening the cold case. What did the “Soko Donau” overlook? Who benefits from the death of the “funny widower”?

“Soko Donau” is a production by Satel Film in cooperation with ORF and ZDF, produced with the support of Fernsehfonds Austria, Filmfonds Wien, the Province of Lower Austria as well as Cinestyria Filmcommission and Fonds and Film Commission Graz.

“Soko Kitzbühel – It happened in the afternoon” (Tuesday, October 1, 9:05 p.m., ORF 1 and ORF ON)
With Jakob Seeböck, Julia Cencig, Ferry Öllinger, Heinz Marecek, Andrea L’Arronge and Veronika Polly as well as Dominik Warta and Stefano Bernardin in episodic roles; Director: Claudia Jüptner-Jonstorff

David, the young son of businessman Johannes Forster, is kidnapped, and the first blackmail letters soon arrive. The “Soko” team reacts lightning fast, and the feverish search for David is increasingly pushing the cops to their psychological limits. Lukas (Jakob Seeböck) and Nina (Julia Cencig) suspect the perpetrators are in David’s circle of friends and question Johannes’ (Dominik Warta) estranged brother Matthias (Thomas Clemens), but he remains tight-lipped. Johannes’s colleague Bernhard Kröswang (Stefano Bernardin) is also targeted by the “Soko” because he has a special friendship with David. But Lukas and Nina cannot prove anything against him either, and the time left to rescue David is running out.

“Soko Kitzbühel” is a co-production of ORF and ZDF, produced by Gebhardt Productions.
