Iran rejects G-7 statement calling on Tehran to stop supporting Hamas

Iran’s comments came a day after G-7 foreign ministers in the Japanese capital called for humanitarian corridors and a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas.

The representative of the ministry emphasized that Iran is making every effort to stop Israeli attacks on civilians in the Gaza Strip.

Iran, which supports Hamas both financially and militarily, welcomed the militants’ attack on Israel but denied any involvement.

Tehran does not recognize the state of Israel.
