Then the decision on the future of the parade has been made – comes at the same time as other carnival news

Or should the one that Aalborg Carnival itself is planning be dropped? And instead become an integral part of the children’s carnival and the Stjerneparaden, which is the more popular part of the event with a large procession and subsequent party in Kildeparken?

The questions were on the agenda when there was a general meeting in Aalborg Karneval on Wednesday evening.

And let’s get it straight: the International Parade will not return as an independent part of Aalborg Carnival next year.

This is what development manager and spokesperson Jeanett Kaare tells Nordjuyske on Thursday morning.

– We have closed it in the form we know it. It is not necessarily a saving exercise, but a prioritization of how we create the most value – and we do this by integrating the parade into the other activities, she says to Nordjyske.

A good 20 members showed up, and well over half agreed with that point of view.

From 2025, however, there will also be another piece of news:

– There will be a pre-event in Kildeparken the day before the carnival – that is, Friday evening, reveals Jeanett Kaare.

Despite the disagreements about the future of the international parade, Jeanett Kaare emphasizes that there is still a good atmosphere in the association.

She emphasizes that everyone around Aalborg Karneval is very fond of the international parade, and that the question of its future has only been brought up for reasons of economy, as the carnival does not make any money from it overall.

In addition, the carnival has also lost half a million kroner in subsidies from Aalborg Municipality.
