According to informed sources, the expected date of polling for the general elections across the country has been revealed, and the general elections are likely to be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

According to sources, the Election Commission will inform the Supreme Court in writing in this regard after two days. The Election Commission has also started preparations for the elections on the proposed date.

It should be remembered that two days ago, President Arif Alvi expressed his fear of delay in the general elections in an interview to Private TV and said that he is not sure that the elections will be held in the last week of January.

The Election Commission denied the speculations regarding the delay in the elections. And in response to the statement of the President Dr. Arif Alvi regarding the postponement of the general elections, he said that the preparations of the Election Commission for the upcoming general elections are complete. The election schedule will be announced immediately after the final publication of constituencies.

It should be noted that the objections to the preliminary constituencies can be submitted at the convenience center established in the Election Commission till 12:00 tonight. The Election Commission will hear the objections from October 28 to November 26. The final publication of constituencies will be on November 30.

On the other hand, in order to deal with the objections on the constituencies, the Election Commission has also established two benches which will hear from November 1. The first bench will hear the objections of Islamabad, Shikarpur, Khuzdar, Sialkot and Rajanpur.

The second bench will deal with the objections of Kurram, Attock, Jhelum, Nankana, Kohat and Korangi. The objections of Malir, Sanghar, Swat, Haripur, Chakwal and Pashin will be heard on November 2, while Mardan, Karachi, Sharqi, Musa Khel, Lodhran, Nowshera Feroze and Hub will also be heard on the same day.
