Instead of Yaisla .. 3 candidates to coach Al-Ahly

Today, Wednesday, the Al-Ahly club management began examining the files of a number of coaches, in anticipation of the dismissal of the team’s German coach, Matthias Jaissle, after the early exit from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.

Al-Ahly, the Saudi club that won the most Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cups, bid farewell to the tournament early in the round of 32 after losing 2-1 to Al-Jandal last Monday.

Sources close to Al-Ahly Club revealed that Matthias Jaissle received full support from the management and players to continue in his position, in an attempt to impose an atmosphere of control and stability within the team.

However, press reports revealed the administration’s intention to give the German coach a “last chance” during the coming period, in an attempt to improve the team’s results, otherwise dismissal will be the inevitable fate of the German coach.

The club’s management will not wait long, as it has already started placing the files of foreign coaches on the table of the board and the technical committee, to choose one of them as a replacement for Matthias Yaisle, if it is decided that he will leave.

Former Barcelona coach, Spaniard Xavi Hernandez, has been included in the list of candidates to take over the Al-Ahly team in the coming period, as the Spanish coach has extensive experience in the Arab region, after taking over the training of Qatari club Al-Sadd.

Indeed, Xavi’s name was put forward by Al-Ahly’s technical committee, but there are divisions within the administration regarding the Spanish coach. Some agree, as Xavi has experience with Barcelona, and before that with Qatari Al-Sadd, and he will not wait long to get to know the atmosphere in the region.

As for the rejecting part, it wants to hire a big name who has achieved big championships, and does not want to repeat the experience of the young coach Yaisleh.

The name of former England national team coach, Gareth Southgate, was also put forward by the club’s technical committee, after Southgate announced his departure from coaching the English national team, following the loss to Spain in the final of the recent Euro 2024.

The coach is now free, and Al-Ahly can end the matter with him without entering into “exhausting” negotiations. The committee nominated him, as he had previously said that he did not mind coaching the Saudi national team, in his interview with the (Talk Sport) network.

The last option is the former coach of Porto, Sergio Conceicao, who left the team after a journey that lasted 7 years, during which he won 11 titles, the last of which was the Portuguese Cup at the expense of rival Sporting Lisbon.

The technical committee at Al-Ahly Club believes that Conceicao is the most suitable candidate, and he may succeed, similar to his compatriot Jesus, with Al-Hilal.
