Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, met and discussed burning issues with the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, which mainly concern the situation in Gaza.
During the meeting the Prime Minister reiterated the need for an immediate ceasefire, the release of the hostages and the provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis expressed his concern about the intensifying escalation that risks destabilizing the wider region.
The Prime Minister underlined the need to restart the political process that will lead to a two-state solution.
Mitsotakis meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis also met on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
During the meeting, the excellent level of bilateral relations and Greece’s support for strengthening Armenia-EU relations were confirmed.
