Pakistan were the winners of the World Cup and their semi-final and then final were partly credited to New Zealand, who put on a blistering performance against Pakistan in the group match so that the semi-final could be played in New Zealand. Practicality brought trouble for itself.
Pakistan’s group match was their last group match, against New Zealand in Christchurch. Both Pakistan and New Zealand teams could not face each other in the World Cup as Pakistan was eliminated from the World Cup at the group stage.

World Cup 2011
In the 10th World Cup, the group match between Pakistan and New Zealand was played in Palikala, Sri Lanka, which ended in Pakistan’s defeat. New Zealand team scored 302 runs while playing first. Russ Taylor played an innings of 131 runs. In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for 192 runs. Apart from Abdul Razzaq, none of the batsmen in Pakistan’s batting could play well.
