Traveling surgery day at Fram District Hospital

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The VII Health Region, Itapúa, organized a day of surgical interventions at the Fram District Hospital, to bring medical care closer to the population and reduce waiting lists.

In order to reduce the waiting list for surgical interventions, a day of mobile surgeries was held at the Fram District Hospital.

The surgical interventions were carried out through the work of the health professionals at the healthcare center.

Among the surgeries performed, seven successful procedures were carried out: prostate, tongue biopsy, hydrocele and four cases of lithiasis.

Traveling surgery days are a strategy implemented by the Ministry of Health, through the Health Regions, to bring specialized medical care to communities across the country.

These are carried out in district and regional hospitals, where a team of medical and surgical professionals perform interventions of different specialties, according to the health portfolio.

Patients who benefit from these sessions are those who are on the waiting list for surgery and who live in areas far from the reference hospitals. To be selected, patients must be previously evaluated by a doctor from the district or regional hospital where the session will be held.
