Self-evident decision -Tries to make himself a victim or a hero -Spreads slander 2024-09-25 12:13:14

Responding to a related question, during the political editors’ briefing, Mr. Marinakis commented that the former, now ND MP is trying to make himself a victim or a hero.

“I saw Mr. Salma’s statements, I think he is making an attempt, after the self-evident, unanimous decision by the competent committee, to make himself a victim or a hero, a hero of red loans or some bills. The reality itself disputes these objections of the former, now ND MP. It was not only Mr. Salmas who did not vote in favor of, for example, the bill he is referring to, but also some of the MPs who either abstained or voted against are members of the government and all of them are criticizing” said the government representative initially.

“On red loans, Mr. Salmas asked a question together with other MPs. This question was answered immediately, and from the first moment the government, through me and competent officials, applauded the questioning process. So, with Mr. Salmas trying to say that he was deleted for the question he asked with other colleagues and they will continue to ask more questions, as has been the case. Mr. Salmas was deleted because, contrary to all the other ND MPs and contrary to what happens in this faction and throughout time contrary to what the operation of the KO foresees, he continued to reproduce slanderous statements, at a time when this matter has asked a relevant question to the Greek Parliament on June 25, the responsible minister – Mrs. Mendoni – replied on June 28, and when the procedure was completed, while he was asked to come back, he did not come back”, he explained.

Marinakis: The behavior for which Mr. Salmas was removed is individual, not connected to any other MP

“A few days later he requested relevant documents and they were provided to him. For this case, all the administrative actions prescribed by law have been brought and they have been rejected. We belong to a faction that respects the institutions, respects Justice, in ND we have learned that if there is something that possibly has a criminal dimension -which all the competent bodies have decided does not exist-, to go to Justice and not to take the channels and make accusations. This has nothing to do with ND, it can be done in other parties, but it is not done in ND. And when someone continues to repeat over and over again from KO to television stations something that has already been answered and does not choose the path of Justice, this, in addition to being an attitude contrary to the functioning of ND, also raises reasonable questions.” added Mr. Marinakis.

“It was a decision, as demonstrated by the Commission meeting, self-evident and unanimous and we are moving forward. It is, I think, unfair to the rest of our MPs to associate a write-off with a bill or a vote or a bad debt issue,” he noted.

To another question regarding Mr. Salma’s claims that his deletion is a message to other MPs, Mr. Marinakis replied: “I don’t think there is another ND MP who spreads slander on the channels and doesn’t go to court if he thinks they have base. There is no other member of parliament who gets an answer and persists with the same objections to a television station. So, this claim has nothing to do with reality, because the behavior for which he was deleted is individual, not connected to any other MP”.
