IN commemorating the 64th National Farmers Day, the Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi said that his party continues to be committed to supporting and improving the welfare of farmers.

“The food agency always prepares connectivity between upstream and downstream,” said Arief when met in Jakarta on Tuesday (24/9).

Arief emphasized that if farmers want to achieve prosperity, farmers must know their target market. For example, the current target market for farmers is modern retail and the National Nutrition Agency which can be one of the captive markets for farmers.

“So that farmers are not presented with falling prices because the downstream has been prepared,” said Arief.

In commemoration of the 64th National Farmers Day, Arief also invited the public to reduce food loss and waste. The reason is, the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas has launched the Roadmap for Managing Food Loss and Waste in Supporting the Achievement of Food Security Towards Golden Indonesia 2045.

In the roadmap, the target is to reduce SSP by 50 percent by 2030 and 75 percent by 2045. (S-1)
