Ice hockey: Frölunda won away against Luleå after Elisa Holopainen’s double goal

Watch the solo performance and Holopainen’s three points in the player above.

Elisa Holopainen averaged three points per game in the Finnish league for her KalPa last year. The question was how she would fare in tougher SDHL.

After three games, it can be stated that there will be many points here as well. The 22-year-old Finn has had a successful start in the Swedish league.

In today’s tough away meeting with Luleå, she accounted for two goals and an assist, and now has the same scoring average as last year after a total of nine points so far.

Luleå’s first goal came in the first period before extending to 2-0 in the third period after a delicious solo performance by Holopainen. Luleå managed to reduce in the final minutes but failed to score an equaliser. Instead, Frölunda captain Hanna Olsson determined the final result 3-1, assisted by Holopainen.

– A fantastic victory against a fantastic team. You really have to celebrate when you take victories like this, says Frölunda goalkeeper Stephanie Neatby in TV4 Play.

At the same time, HV71 beat newcomer Skellefteå 2-1 after extra time and SDE won against Modo 3-2, also in extra time.
