Apple has announced a host of new features and changes coming to iPhones in iOS 18.1. The company has released the fifth beta of this update to developers, including significant improvements to artificial intelligence, camera settings, RCS support, Control Center improvements, and many other features.
What’s new in iOS 18.1 beta 5?
New changes to the control center
Apple has made additional changes to the Control Center, adding new dedicated buttons such as a Wi-Fi button and a VPN button, which users can add to the Control Center.
You can now reset the Control Center to the default layout through your phone’s settings.
New option to control the camera in iPhone 16 phones
Apple has added a new option for iPhone 16 users, allowing them to switch between the rear and front cameras using the camera control button, making it easier to switch between cameras while shooting.

New upgrade in iPhone Mirroring feature
With iOS 18.1 and macOS Sequoia 15.1, you can now use drag and drop to transfer files between iPhones and Macs when using iPhone Mirroring.
Apple Intelligence Features Changes
A new button has been added to the toolbar in the Notes app for quick access to AI-powered writing tools. Previously, you had to select all of the text to access these tools, but now they’re available directly in the toolbar.
