At the 18th Ordinary State Congress on September 24, 2024 in Vienna, Thomas Rasch was confirmed in his role as State Chairman of the FCG Vienna with an impressive result of 85.7 percent of the delegates’ votes. His deputies Maria Klima, Florian Kahl, Barbara Schweighofer-Maderbacher and Andreas Gollner were also elected with the greatest possible approval.
In his speech, regional chairman KR Thomas Rasch thanked all delegates for the great trust that was placed in him and his team. He also stated in his speech: “I would like to thank you all for your commitment and tireless efforts in the companies and departments over the past few years – that is what the FCG lives from! The goal for the coming years is to further strengthen the FCG and to constantly improve the working conditions for our colleagues!”
FCG Federal Chairwoman and ÖGB Vice President MP Romana Deckenbacher stated in her political speech: “We as FCG can be proud of what we have achieved, many FCG demands have been successfully implemented – from the valorization of family and social benefits and the eco-social tax reform to the abolition of bracket creep. We as FCG stand for the C principle, for progress, courage and community.” Looking ahead to the coming years, she stressed: “Our goal is clear, we demand further tax relief, tax-free overtime and adjustments to the heavy worker regulations – in accordance with our principle ‘Performance must be worth it!'”
FCG-Vienna regional manager KR Friedrich Pöltl looked to the future with confidence in his report: “With our main proposal, we are well prepared for the challenges of tomorrow’s working world. Solidarity with all employees will be of great importance in these challenging times. We must pay particular attention to young people, who will be our future works council members and staff representatives. I would like to thank everyone involved – from young people to pensioners – for their great cooperation.”
