Eighteen essential songs from the catalog of one of the most popular Czech singers, David Koller, in a new guise. This will be offered by the David Koller Best Of album, which will be released during the fall. The first taste is a new version of the hit I want to sleep in you again. Together with the band, David Koller recorded it in the studio in Mikulov, and a video clip was also created for the song. In addition to it, listeners will also find on the album songs that the musician wrote for the bands Jasná Páka, Lucia or his own solo projects. The launch of the David Koller Best Of album is scheduled for December 4 at Fora Karlín. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
DAVID KOLLER – BEST OF – I want to sleep inside you again
“The last six months I spent a lot of time in the studio, which I decided to expand and modernize. That’s probably why I thought that I could make the most of the studio and record older songs in such a way that they correspond to today’s interpretation, to how we play them with the band at concerts. Some have changed a lot over time. I thought it would be nice to record the newer versions on the album so we can listen to it too. I will never hear my concert,” says David Koller.
He re-recorded some of the songs with his band in the studio in current arrangements. Others are a recording of a concert performance. Petr Kaláb, Petr Filipský and Filip Vlček are behind the sound of the collection.
The single Chci zas v tobá spát, which is the album’s first single, was originally released on David Koller’s first solo album in 1993. “We shot the song again in one go. At the same time, we recorded the whole process on video, so fans can experience the atmosphere from the studio with us.” adds the singer. The video will eventually accompany not only this song. Thanks to Adam Koller and Tomáš Karban, another six tracks from the upcoming Best Of album received a visual treatment.
David Koller will be promoting the new album on a Christmas tour. As part of it, the band will arrive in Děčín, Uherské Hradiště, Opava, Brno, Hradec Králové, Žamberk, České Budějovice, Domažlice, Olomouc or Zlín. The culmination will be a concert at Foru Karlín on December 4, where the album will be launched.
