The soldier who photographed women on the train apologizes: “I made the mistake of my life”

The soldier who is suspected of recording women on the train, Avitar Cohen, published a video today (Thursday) in which he apologized and took responsibility for the actions he committed. “I understand that this is a very big mistake and I have to take responsibility for it,” he shared, “I have a hard time with what I did and I deeply regret it.” We revealed the documentation of the women on the train, and the confrontation between the soldier and Noam, who found herself being filmed, in the “Main Edition” at the beginning of the week.

“As hard as it is to take responsibility – I take full responsibility,” said the soldier Cohen at the beginning of the video. “A spirit of nonsense entered me. I hurt my environment, the people who love me, my family and the trust of the people who are close to me.”

Cohen also addressed the reactions against him in the networks after the publication of the article. “If I saw a video of someone doing this to her – I would react like you do,” he admitted. “I take responsibility for what I did and I just want to ask for forgiveness and say that I learned from my mistakes. I try as much as possible to overcome it and be who I used to be – a different person who thinks before he does something.”

He signed the video: “I understand that I made the mistake of my life and I hope that you will ever be able to forgive me, sorry.”

In the “Main Edition” we revealed that Cohen had placed his cell phone in the bathroom on the train, which recorded women in intimate situations. During the month of May, Noam, an officer in military service, noticed the camera and decided to confront Cohen.

“My body froze,” she shared. “I took the phone, turned the screen and saw a video that had already been recorded for about five minutes, and managed to take another picture of someone before I went in. I stopped the video, while I heard him banging on the door with pressure because he probably realized he had been caught. I tried to capture as much evidence as possible and recorded the photo through His screen is on my phone.”
