Carolina Classic Fair (Dixie Classic Fair) 2024 in North Carolina

The Carolina Classic Fair, also known as the Dixie Classic Fair, is a vibrant 10-day annual event held each fall at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The fair features a wide array of attractions to suit every taste. Among other things, you can find top musical acts, delicious fried foods and drinks, livestock exhibits, fine arts and crafts, carnival rides and games, children’s activities, fireworks, and commercial vendors. The fair is a highly anticipated celebration in the community. It attracts approximately 60,000 visitors each weekend and about 180,000 attendees throughout the event.

Attractions and Activities

The Carolina Classic Fair offers a wide variety of attractions, ensuring entertainment for everyone. Highlights typically include the Cowboy Circus, Extreme Illusions and Escapes, Animal Cracker Conspiracy, racing simulators, and The Living Zultar. Each evening, fireworks light up the sky at 9:45 p.m. Visitors can also enjoy thrilling rides, delicious food, a Beer Garden, and a trip back in time at Yesterday Village, which features 19 log structures from the 1800s. Competitions are open to all, whether you’re an aspiring artist, agricultural expert, or culinary enthusiast, giving everyone a chance to showcase their talents.

Hours

The fair is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, providing plenty of time for visitors to enjoy all the attractions. Playground hours are noon to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets and Parking

Tickets to the Carolina Classic Fair are available at various prices. Adults ages 12-64 can enter for $10, with an additional $2 charge if purchased at the gate. Children ages 6-11 can join the fun for $5, also subject to a $2 charge at the gate, while children under five can enter for free. Adults ages 65 and older can also enjoy free admission with a valid ID. Early Bird Admission is available for $5 before 4 p.m., Monday through Friday only. Please note that there will also be Special Days such as Senior Day, Special Education Day, or Military Day when you can enter for a cheaper or even free admission.

For parking, advanced spots are available for $10 in the Fair’s VIP Parking Lot, which offers a guaranteed spot and a direct walk to the central area. This option is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. General parking on the day of the event is also $10. It can be found in the LJVM Coliseum and Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium parking lots, both owned and operated by Wake Forest University.

Rules and restrictions

Certain items are strictly prohibited at the Carolina Classic Fair to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. These include alcohol and drugs, skateboards and scooters, drones, large bags, selfie sticks, fireworks and loud devices, tripods, laser pointers, weapons, knives and multi-tools, as well as any offensive or inappropriate clothing.
