One of Russia’s most popular writers has claimed that her dogs were poisoned

Writer Darya Dontsova’s dogs were poisoned. She herself wrote about this on her Instagram page*.

“Some time ago I began to receive outright threats against myself, my family and my animals,” the writer noted.

She said that on August 25 she received a message that said: “All your fucking dogs will die.” Moreover, according to the writer, she had received such messages regularly before.

“We have nothing to eat, and you feed the dogs cheese so they die”; “Your cats live better than my children, better help the poor” — Dontsova gave examples of such messages, noting that she chose the most decent ones.

“On August 26, the nobleman Fin and the 6-year-old pug Mulechka fell ill. Someone threw poison on the property. We are still treating Fin. Mulechka died on August 27,” the writer stated.

She added that a search is currently underway for the poisoner, the area is equipped with video cameras, and the dogs are no longer walking alone.

The writer’s husband died in March 2023. Alexander Dontsov. Now the author of detective novels lives with dogs and two cats in a country house near Moscow, which she calls “the pug’s domain.” The first pug appeared in the writer’s family about 30 years ago.

For several years in a row, Dontsova was the most published writer in Russia.
