By the end of the year, the Ministry of Energy plans to announce a call for support for the installation of batteries for residents.

“Producing consumers are the foundation of our energy independence. The total capacity of their power plants today is 1.33 GW, which is more than half of the country’s solar power plant capacity, which is currently 1.75 GW, says Energy Minister Dainius Kreivys. – It is the producing consumers who have become the most important factor in the development of solar energy in Lithuania and significantly contribute to the reduction of dependence on electricity imports, therefore the state will continue to support residents’ investments in their energy self-sufficiency.”

The number of producing users in Lithuania has increased twelvefold in four years and is currently 116 thousand – slightly more than the population of Šiauliai. Most of the solar power plants are installed using state support.
