A video attributed to the national airline “PIA” is going viral on social media, in which it is being claimed that the pilot mistakenly landed the Peshawar-bound flight in Karachi. However, a senior journalist associated with a major private TV station in the country has revealed the authenticity of the video.

The video showed people arguing with airport security personnel inside the plane.

Senior Journalist Tariq Abul Hasan Explaining the truth of this video That the PIA flight “PK 284” from Dubai to Peshawar made a technical landing at Karachi Airport on Sunday night due to a technical problem.

According to Tariq Abulhasan, the passengers were kept sitting in the plane for several hours. Passengers got angry for not being transferred from the plane to the lounge and protested strongly in the plane. The viral video is of this protest.

He said that after several hours, the passengers were sent to Peshawar through an alternative flight.

However, a pilot named Muhammad Ahmed, who appeared to be the pilot in the video, commented on his post and corrected him saying, ‘The plane suffered a technical fault after hitting a pushback truck in Dubai. , PIA arranged for the portion to be flown to Dubai by a private airline. It took 16 hours to recover the plane. A technical landing was made to replace the crew as the operating crew was reaching their extended duty limit’.

The senior journalist said that the main reason for the technical problems in the PIA planes these days is that the maintenance of the planes is being severely affected due to the non-supply of spare parts.

He said that the responsible officers of the engineering department say that the PIA administration is not buying the aircraft parts despite the increase in revenue and the flight operation is badly affected due to the non-supply of the parts on time.

Tariq Abul Hasan claimed that ‘due to this negligence of PIA’s top management, many planes are grounded, these days only 17 planes out of 40 PIA are in operation’.

Tariq Abul Hasan said that these officers say that due to the privatization of PIA, the administration is not purchasing spare parts for the planes. While the most dubious role in this matter is the head of the engineering department who has been in this position for many years and has greatly limited the capacity of PIA engineering by closing the workshops of the engineering department one by one. While their policy is also involved in not purchasing spare parts for the planes in time.

He said that in the past, the engineering department of PIA was considered the best among the countries in the region. Where there was capability from de-checking aircraft to complete engine overhaul.
