Mareva Mitsotaki was a guest of Emine Erdogan at the event “Bridal Treasures: A Journey through Ottoman and Anatolian Dowries” at the “House of Turkey” in New York.
Mareva Mitsotakis was warmly welcomed by Emine Erdogan who had invited other First Ladies to promote Turkey’s Cultural Heritage through wedding dresses from every corner of her country.
As Emine Erdogan notes in her post: “Every dowry is from the heart of a mother to her daughter. Each pattern is not just an ornament. It represents the spirit of ancient Anatolia, the delicacy, patience and strength of a civilization of thousands of years. Since 1945, our Institutes have been working to keep this heritage alive in all its simplicity and elegance. The “Miracle of the Turkish Needle” project revives our treasure.
I believe that these unique projects and our institutes will highlight the face of our country around the world, a global brand.”
And he concludes: “I would like to thank the honorable spouses of the heads of state, the representatives of international organizations, the ministers and all our guests who participated in our event.”
