INE gives the green light to the election of the Judicial Branch – El Universal Hidalgo

The National Electoral Institute (INE) carried out the civic ceremony that started theto choose judges, ministers and magistrates.

The ceremony, headed by the president of the council of the INEGuadalupe Taddeiwas attended by 10 councilors, with the absence of Uuc-kib Espadas, and special guests.

Taking the floor, Guadalupe Taddei affirmed that this unprecedented electoral process will be carried out in a transparent manner and with clear rules for all participants.

“We have already started and we are ready to organize this extraordinary process. There is no doubt that we will work with the same professionalism that has given us national and international recognition, and most importantly, that has helped us gain the trust of all Mexicans,” he said.

He said that the Institute’s monitoring and control mechanisms will guarantee the integrity of the electoral process, which he described as a transcendental step in our democratic history.

“We welcome the opportunity to strengthen the rule of law through a transparent and legitimate electoral process. I assure you that the rules will be clear and fair for all participants,” he said.

Workers of the Judiciary demonstrated at the INE facilities while the civic ceremony led by Taddei was taking place to start the electoral process to elect judges, ministers and magistrates.

“INE has gone from national pride to presidential stooge,” said the protesters, and commented that the electoral process is a national setback and “the election of judges and magistrates is only a simulation.”

“Venezuela dismissed its judges and thus began the dictatorship,” they showed on one of their banners.

“For impartial justice, no to judicial reform!” and “Justice by election is a simulation!” they said.
