Bert Huisjes can return to Omroep WNL as a director, the Supervisory Board (rvt) writes in an email to employees of the broadcaster, which the AD quotes on Monday. Last modified: September 24, 2024, 10:24
‘We are aware that there are different opinions within the editorial team. But there is also a shared responsibility for the future of WNL’, according to the Supervisory Board.
‘One of the options is that Bert, guided by the (…) mediator, will enter into discussions with groups of employees. In addition, everyone can of course schedule an individual meeting with him. With or without a mediator.’ The email also states that Huisjes cannot resume his work for WNL at the editorial office for the time being. First, a plan must be put in place ‘to gain your confidence that things will really be different and that we will not return to the old situation.’ The Supervisory Board also wants to set up a works council. In addition, a mediator will be appointed, confidential counselors ‘put forward’ and an HR manager and an ombudsman will be appointed.
The RvT will ‘enter into discussions’ with the editorial board to bring employees into contact with Huisjes. WNL employees reacted ‘furiously’ to the AD and said they felt ‘not taken seriously’.
