Tourists coming to Oman are exempted from the ban of Covid-19 test and 14-day quarantine

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman has announced that tourists coming to Oman have been exempted from the restrictions of the Covid-19 PCR test and 14-day quarantine.

The Ministry of Tourism has said that in view of the new instructions received from the Ministry of Health, it has become possible for tourists coming to the Sultanate of Oman to undergo a mandatory corona virus PCR test before arrival, and undergo a 14-day quarantine upon arrival. Be exempted.

According to the ministry, however, tourists should have health insurance that can cover the cost of treatment in case of contracting Covid-19.

In the circular issued by the ministry, it is said that before arriving in Oman, tourists should register themselves for the PCR test which will be conducted at the airport upon arrival in Oman.

Officials have said that those arriving in Oman by land routes must show a PCR test conducted at least 72 hours before, which should be negative, as there is a lack of medical examination facilities at land route checkpoints.

Tourists coming to Oman will not be able to stay in the Sultanate for more than 2 weeks, each person or each family must book a separate room in a hotel or resort.

Tourists must ensure that they do not leave the room until the result of the Covid test at the airport is negative and avoid mixing with many people. Practices such as wearing a mask, social distancing, and hand sanitization must be followed.

All hotels and resorts in Sultanate will be in touch with Health Services and Directorate General for Disease Surveillance. During their stay in the Sultanate, if tourists are suffering from cough, cold, fever, headache, diarrhea or respiratory problems, they are obliged to immediately inform the hotel management, after which medical assistance will be provided to them. And during this period they have to stay in the room.

The Ministry of Tourism further said that tourists arriving in Oman should take into account that they are following all medical guidelines of the airline they are traveling with.
