Caribes de Anzoátegui took to the field at the Jesús Rizales stadium on Monday to carry out its first training session, led by Pitching Coach, Mike Álvarez and Hitting Coach, Lino Connell.

Eduardo Medina, a member of the press department of La Tribu Oriental, reported that a total of 24 players attended the first practice session of the Aboriginal team. Of the baseball players, 15 were pitchers and nine were position players.

The day’s activities began with physical conditioning and exercises for athletes, under the guidance of trainers John Rodríguez, Jean Ojeda, Ramiro Contreras and physical trainer Edgar Pérez.

Club potential

Álvarez spoke about his return to the Aboriginal team, the potential of the team’s pitching staff and the activities carried out on the first day of preseason.

“I am grateful to be back home. Caribes is my family, I know several pitchers and I know the potential they have, we have received instructions from manager Morgan Ensberg with the work plan for the preseason,” said the Tribe’s pitching coach.

Cuban pitcher José Ramon Rodríguez is the first foreigner to join the Anzoátegui team’s practices.

Imported present

The Antillean commented: “I am aware of the level of the league and I have spoken with several players who have seen action in the national professional baseball, among them the former Caribbean player, Leslie Anderson.”

Caribes will continue with its practices at the Jesús Rizales stadium in the Guanta municipality, while work continues on the playing field at the Alfonso “Chico” Carrasquel field in Puerto La Cruz, its home in the 2024-2025 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP).
