The Tullnerfeld train station and the Atzenbrugg tunnel were particularly badly hit by the flood. The “old” western route through the Vienna Woods is to be double-tracked again from October 10, Engel predicted on Monday. By then, the remaining debris should be cleared and track damage repaired. She is “confident” that the deadline will be met, said the board member. Before that happens, test runs will take place. Safety on the route is a top priority.
