This is the Origin of the Chicken Brought by the Susi Air Pilot During the Release Procession

PILOT Susi Air Philip Mark Mehrthens has been successfully freed from hostage-taking by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). The Indonesian government immediately handed the pilot over to the New Zealand government after arriving at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta, Saturday (21/9) at around 22.27 WIB.

From the circulating photos, when flying in a helicopter, Philip was seen carrying a chicken.

Head of Public Relations for the Cartenz 2024 Peaceful Operation, Senior Commissioner Bayu Suseno, confirmed that Philip brought the chicken back to his country.

Bayu said that the chickens that Philip brought were given by residents of Yuguru village, Nduga.

Meanwhile, Yuguru Village, Mebarok District, Nduga, Papua Mountains is the location where Philip was returned from hostage-taking.

“Yes. The pilot brought it from Yuguru,” Bayu explained to Media Indonesia, Sunday (22/9).

Previously, Susi Air pilot Philip Mark Mehrthens had arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta. The Indonesian government immediately handed over the pilot to the New Zealand government.

“Just now I represented the government of the Republic of Indonesia, officially handing over Captain Pilot Philip Mehrtens to the government of New Zealand,” said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto, Saturday (21/9). (P-5)
