It ended exactly the same way as the closed-door debate at the Ambrosetti Forum. The broad camp is falling apart on Ukraine, and even the Democratic Party is divided. It happened during the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on the resolution of financial and military support for the country invaded by Russia. The resolution also includes Article 8, which includes the lifting of restrictions on the use of Western weapons delivered to Ukraine on Russian soil. The final vote was approved by MEPs from Forza Italia and Fratelli d’Italia, and opposed by Lega, M5S and Avs. The Democratic Party was divided, with two MEPs, Marco Tarquinio and Cecilia Strada, wanted on the lists by secretary Elly Schlein, abstaining. Another division on the lifting of restrictions on weapons, which passed with the favorable vote of Democrats Pina Picierno and Elisabetta Gualmini, and the contrary vote of all the others. In practice, the broad camp was dissolved.
