PROMOTE women’s leadership for a better future of global cooperation and potential enhancement.

“Let us work together to create a world where trust and cooperation are not just ideals, but also realities that guide our shared journey towards the future,” said Deputy Chairperson of the MPR RI, Lestari Moerdijat, in a written statement, Thursday (19/9).

Lestari made the statement while speaking in front of the Russian Parliament as part of the Fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum in St Petersburg, Russia, on Wednesday (18/9) afternoon.

According to Lestari, female leadership is needed because female leaders bring unique perspectives.

Rerie, Lestari’s nickname, said that research shows that women tend to excel in collaboration, empathy, and long-term thinking, qualities that are very important for building trust and fostering global cooperation.

A number of qualities that women possess, Rerie added, are not only useful, but also very necessary in a world that is increasingly interconnected and interdependent than ever before.

The ability to bridge gaps and encourage dialogue, said Rerie, who is also a legislator from Electoral District II of Central Java, is very important in a world with polarization and conflict that threatens the progress we have achieved.

“Mutual trust is the foundation of effective leadership. Without mutual trust, cooperation is impossible, and progress will stall,” he added.

Women, Rerie emphasized, must be at the forefront of leadership, not as a complement, but as a driving force.

By empowering women leaders, she explained, we can build a world where trust is restored, collaboration is deepened, and the full potential of our global community is realized.

“Let us commit today to support and elevate women in leadership positions,” concluded the NasDem Party High Council Member. (Z-2)
