Specifications of the first high-speed train in Russia

The ticket price from Moscow to St. Petersburg has been announced. Recently, guests of an exhibition held in the Manezh complex in central Moscow were able to see a life-size model of the train. They had the opportunity to sit in a first-class carriage and feel the comfort provided by air conditioning, air purification and other systems available on the train, including wireless charging for smartphones and automatic opening and closing of doors.

The train was named after the “Singer” (a large white-feathered hawk from the northern regions).

There will be four classes of carriages on the train: First Class, Business Class, Comfort Class and Standard Class. First Class has 15 seats and a conference room for four people, in addition to a cabin for two people.

There are 68 seats in business class, 135 seats in two standard carriages and 230 seats in four comfort class carriages. The train will consist of 8 carriages designed for 454 passengers, in addition to a children’s play area in one of the carriages.

The “White Falcon” will travel at a speed of 400 km/h. This means that the journey from Moscow to St. Petersburg will take two hours and 15 minutes, which is twice as fast as the “Sepsan” (Peregrine) express train that currently connects Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Residents of Tver can reach Moscow in just 39 minutes instead of 1 hour and 9 minutes previously, while residents of Veliky Novgorod will reach St. Petersburg in 29 minutes instead of 3 hours and 10 minutes.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev recalled that not only will high-speed traffic connect the two Russian capitals, but 5 other projects will be implemented that will increase the mobility of 80% of Russia’s population.
