iPhone 6 explosion, 11-year-old girl injured

An 11-year-old girl has claimed that her iPhone exploded in her hands.

Kayla Ramos, from Bakerfield, California, was playing on her sister’s iPhone 6 in her room when she saw sparks coming out of the device.

“I was sitting and I had my phone in my hand, when I saw sparks coming out of it everywhere and threw it on the blanket,” the girl told ABC News.

Kayla Ramos said that her hand was slightly burned in the blast, but not too badly hurt, but her iPhone and blanket were completely burned.

The girl’s mother Maria Adata said that Apple is investigating the incident and the company has promised to send her daughter a new phone.

Maria said that the possible cause of the explosion was overcharging the device.

In this regard, Apple said in a statement sent to ABC News that there can be several reasons for an iPhone to overheat.

According to the statement, these reasons include using third-party Apple products such as charging cables or having the iPhone repaired by a company that is not approved by Apple.

Incidents of iPhones catching fire or exploding like this are very rare.

However, Samsung faced the issue widely with the Galaxy Note 7 smartphone and several people complained of the devices catching fire, which led to a worldwide recall of the devices and the company as a result. 5 billion dollars faced while the reputation was also badly affected.
