Petro seeks to reactivate a new dialogue with Maduro

Colombia seeks to resume dialogue between Gustavo Petro and Nicolás Maduro, taking advantage of the presidential transition in Mexico on October 1, when Latin American leaders will meet, which represents an “opportunity” to find a political solution for Venezuela, according to Colombian Vice Foreign Minister Jorge Rojas.

The Colombian official, who is in Madrid to strengthen bilateral ties, participated this Friday in an Efe-Casa de América forum, where he highlighted Bogotá’s active role in the situation in Venezuela, but with “caution and a lot of responsibility.”

«For Colombia it is very important to keep in mind that political peace in Venezuela has to do with internal peace in Colombia.“said the director of the International Information Department of the Efe Agency, Emilia Pérez.
