American companies ready to do business with Huawei soon

In May this year, the Chinese company Huawei was blacklisted by the US administration, after which it was said that it may face financial losses.

But now it seems that Huawei’s troubles are about to end and it is going to sell more smartphones than expected this year.

Reuters reported in a report on Sunday that the Trump administration is ready to approve licenses for companies that sell products to Huawei in the next 2 to 4 weeks, so that they can sell parts to the Chinese company.

It would be the first significant move to signal an easing of restrictions since Huawei was blacklisted in May.

After meeting with the Chinese president during the G20 conference last month, US President Donald Trump announced that US companies will be allowed to continue doing business with Huawei, while last week the US Department of Commerce banned the Chinese company from doing business with the US. The companies were instructed to continue issuing special licenses.

On the other hand, Huawei said in a statement that instead of issuing a special license, the US government should remove the company from the blacklist because there is no concrete evidence that Huawei poses a threat to US security.

Analysts now estimate that sales of Huawei phones could reach 260 million in 2019, especially if it regains access to the Google license soon, following signs of an easing of US sanctions.

According to analysts, by the end of July, if Huawei gets access to Google Mobile Services, the sales of devices this year could exceed 26 million, while without the license, this figure could be close to 23 million.

Donald Trump blacklisted Huawei in an executive order in May this year based on the company’s alleged ties to the Chinese government.
