After a short ‘dry’ break, without rain and with a timid sun, the risk of bad weather returns tomorrow, Sunday 22 September, the date on which the autumn equinox falls, the time of year that marks the beginning of astronomical autumn. Bad weather that, according to the Italian Meteorological Centre, could also be intense in some regions such as Sardinia and Campania. An unstable secondary circulation continues to influence the central Mediterranean, and although the weather conditions are improving compared to the past few days, bad weather is not completely absent. In the next few hours, in fact, some showers will be possible on the Alpine and Apennine reliefs, but without significant phenomena. For the first part of the weekend, the Italian Meteorological Centre underlines, in particular for today Saturday 21 September, the forecasts indicate mainly stable and dry weather conditions in Italy, according to the main calculation centres. However, some showers could still hit the middle-lower Adriatic side until the morning. In the afternoon, there will be a further improvement, with general stability in the country.

But the risk of bad weather is just around the corner. For the second part of the weekend, for Sunday 22 September, a new worsening is expected, with rain and possible thunderstorms that will first enter Sardinia, where they could be intense and of a cloudburst nature, and then extend to the upper Tyrrhenian side and the central areas by evening. Campania could be involved in the evening, with intense phenomena, especially on the coastal areas. In other regions, however, the weather conditions will remain relatively stable and dry, with temperatures rising further, making the climate milder.

IN THE NORTH – Stable weather during the day in the northern regions but with cloudiness in transit in the North-West and more clear spaces in the North-East. In the evening and night it will worsen in the western sectors with rain arriving from Liguria and Piedmont. IN THE CENTRE – Dry weather day in the central regions with slightly or irregularly cloudy skies due to accumulations in transit. Between the evening and the night precipitation arriving in the Tyrrhenian sectors, drier elsewhere. IN THE SOUTH AND ON THE ISLANDS – Mostly dry weather during the day in the southern regions with irregular cloudiness and clearings, more compact accumulations in Sardinia with scattered rain and showers. Few variations in the evening and night with phenomena in Sardinia and drier elsewhere. Minimum and maximum temperatures stable or slightly rising across the entire Peninsula.
